How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Pam has been a ceramic artist since attending art school in South Africa. She attended the Pretoria Art School at the College for Advanced Technology in Pretoria, South Africa. This is where she was introduced to clay and her time in South Africa definitely influenced her work. Most of her early impressions were mainly colorful patterns and texture.
Pam also studied at The University of Texas at Arlington and Tarrant County College in Ft. Worth, Texas where she focused on ceramics and sculpture. After returning to Texas she became a full time ceramic artist selling as well as exhibiting her ceramics through out the South West. She also started teaching throwing and Raku firing workshops. In time she developed a strong signature technique for her contemporary Polychrome and Raku ceramics.
After attending a week-end glass workshop in 1999, Raymond's fascination with glass as an artistic medium led him to explore and develop his own style of glass art works. He is primarily self taught, and his exploration in fused and blown glass has resulted an a distinctive style with exciting color patterns and beautiful fluid shapes. Many of Raymond’s sculptural glass works also incorporate welded steel or copper. Raymond has gained award-winning recognition in a relatively short time.
