How long have you been in business?

What is your primary product or service?
Outsourced IT and project work around compuetr networking, security, storage, virtualization and Voice over IP. Also have audit practice around security and technology audits.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
My business partner and I were partners in a larger firm back in the late 90's. We decided to start our own firm where we could implement the customer partnership principles that we believe in.
Background was more management and operations. Did not become technical until after several years in line of business management and project management roles. While PMing a 1.5 yrs. project for a 120 site school campus, decided to take Network Essentials as part of NT MCSE program. Take pride in my written and communication skills with owners and executives as I can convey complex concepts well, since I think from that point of view first.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We believe in a 3 pronged approach - 1) People - We have a full staff of experienced IT consultants and constantly ask our clients to rate service calls in our ticket tracking system, 2) Processes - We use best practices and lessons learned. Our continual service improvement strategy means always looking for better ways to make things happen checklists, system documentation, and workflow maps, and 3) Technology - We use proactive network monitoring, trouble ticket tracking, and other IT systems to stay in touch and keep track of our clients' networks.
Not every IT issue requires new technology, sometimes you tweak the existing or design differently. That is the concept of the Fulcrum Group and tools. Technology is just a point of leverage for your people. There are very few new inventions, success is sometimes achieved by the correct application of an existing tool.

Single location, 12 employees and 40%+ growth trend means we periodically look for new people.
