We begin raising llamas in 1985.
Mary Nell, reared in Clinton, Oklahoma, attended college at in Weatherford, Oklahoma, attaining a BS in Education. Jim reared in Chickasha,Oklahoma, also attended Southwestern State attaining a BS in Pharmacy. After marriage in 1963, another year of education, and a brief pharmacy position in Big Springs, Texas, we purchased a pharmacy in Denton to make Texas our home. We
begin raising llamas in 1985, and operated our pharmacy until its sale in September 1994, allowing retirement to our farm west of Krum. We are now raising llamas full time and enjoying every minute. Our herd consists of about 50 females and 6 herdsires. We each help with the llamas. In our spare time, Mary Nell tends to the house and her
garden, while Jim custom bales hay and mows pasture for the area residents. We have been superintendents for the
State Fair of Texas for 13 years and the Fort Worth Livestock Llama Show for 6 years. Showing our llamas in area llama competition has been quite successful for us. Offspring that we have sold have done equally well. Our goal is to continue to make new llama friends and
customers, while improving our breeding program. Visitors are always
welcome.
