Customer Reviews for Sharp Refinishing

I purchased my home several years ago and it is now about 10 years old. The fiberglass shower pan was in pretty bad shape when I moved in. I tried a multitude of cleaners to remove the stains (e.g., bleach-based cleaners, CLR, eraser pads, oven cleaners, etc.). While I managed to get most of the stains out, some were still somewhat visible and the pan had no sheen. It also would degrade quickly without frequent cleaning using strong cleaners and thorough scrubbing.
I found Sharp Refinishing on Yelp, but noticed that they had no reviews, so I checked out their website and found a lot of useful information about the refinishing process, most notably a fairly detailed list of their standard pricing for various jobs. I decided to get a quote for the job, so I sent some pictures of the shower pan to Debbie. She responded very quickly with a quote, and over the next week or so, responded by email to numerous questions I had regarding the process (e.g., Can the plastic strainer be resurfaced or does it have to be replaced? It was resurfaced at no additional cost, but resurfacing the threshold outside the shower was an extra charge.).
I decided to go ahead and have the work done, so I called Debbie to schedule a time. I understand that while they have been in business for some 35 years, they are a small company so there is some lead time once you decide to schedule a job. In my case, it was about 4 weeks.
Jim and his assistant Floyd arrived on time and were both friendly and professional. As Debbie had told me to expect, the process took about 5 hours. Most of this seemed to be prep work (e.g., removing caulk, repairing small nicks, papering and taping inside and around the shower, etc.).
The final results look great and I'm especially pleased with how easily it now cleans. Had I realized it would look this good, I would have done this when I first purchased the home. I would definitely recommend that you contact Sharp Refinishing if you're thinking about having a refinishing job done.
A few final things that may be of importance to you:
* They mentioned that there would be some residual odor after the job, but I didn't find it to be particularly strong, and it dissipated quickly.
* You'll be responsible for re-caulking around the shower pan unless you want them to come back the next day at an additional cost.
* As a small company, they only accept cash or personal check, and payment is due at the completion of the job.
