Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
We started in February 2009. My grandparents first moved to Fort Worth, and opened their practice in 1931. We have a long history of helping improve the lives of North Texans.
What is your primary product or service?
Primarily, I provide the safest possible long term savings strategies for families. It's tax advantaged and come with many perks that traditional investment accounts can't touch. I tailor my strategies for each person, according to their goals, resources, and wishes.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I first began as a stock and mutual funds broker in 1992. I spent the bulk of my career as a national vice president for the largest privately held mortgage company of its time, until the banking crash in 2008. Since then, I opened 1st Choice Family, as a way to help people in a variety of ways. My best contribution to others is my ability to formulate a conservative strategy that yields aggressive results. I love the look on my client's face, when they see what I can do for them. It's very rewarding.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Essentially, I'm a financial planner and an insurance agent. I have a variety of resources to offer my clients. But, what sets me apart from other financial planners and advisors, is my ability to properly allocate a client's portfolio outside the stock market "casino". Everyone else seems to be stuck in the mindset that the stock market is the only place to build money, which is a complete falsehood. The stock market is a gamble. And, anyone who works hard for their money, wants it to grow safely. Therefore, the stock market should only play a small role in their strategy, instead of a major one.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Ask anyone who knows me and they'll tell you that I have BIG plans! However, what I do is very specialized and requires a careful eye on detail. Just as no two artists are alike, what I do is only as good as the time and attention I put into it, and the time and attention I put into my continuing education. So, I will build my local practice at a careful pace, to ensure I can continue providing well-thought strategies that are the best they can be.

I operate by confidential appointment only, at my client's location. I travel to my clients because it's what they want and it keeps me out in the community, which is where I want to be. Anyone wishing to learn about my strategies is invited to call and set a time for a visit. All details will be discussed at that time.
What type of payments do you accept?
My clients don't pay me. There's no charge for my visits and conferences.
Which areas do you service?
I serve all of the Dallas and Fort Worth areas, particularly in Tarrant County.

What are your hours of operation?
Generally, I accept appointments Monday through Friday from 8am to 7pm. Outside those hours by special request.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
That they're glad they met me and allowed me to help them. I love it when clients tell me I'm an answer to their prayers. It lets me know I'm on the right track.
